Reports to:  Executive to the Assistant Head of School and Director of Board Relations

 

Position Description:

 

Under the supervision of the, the Special Events Coordinator is a multifaceted role involving planning and executing events at Branson. We are seeking a strategic thinker with excellent organizational and management skills, strong communication skills, as well a proven track record in coordinating and executing successful events.

 

This job is a 12 month, 75% FTE position. It requires some evening and weekend commitments. Annual salary range: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00. Expected start date: July 1, 2024.

 

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Plan and execute all aspects of special events, including contract negotiations, guest lists, invitations, RVSPs, staffing,  venue preparation, presentation materials, security, transportation, catering, entertainment, equipment, decor and marketing materials. Events include Convocation, Back to School Day, Beloved Community Event, Admission Open Houses, Campaign Gatherings, Graduation and other events as needed.
Manage all aspects of Graduation including, but not limited to, diplomas, diploma covers, caps gowns, and tassels.
Oversee the on-site management of events; works with the Facilities department to ensure facilities are prepared for events with plenty of lead time
In collaboration with the Assistant Head of School for Mission Advancement, serve as the events liaison to the Parents’ Association.
Work closely with the registrar to help manage the calendar and the planning and flow of events throughout the year.
Work closely with the DEI Director on institutional DEI metrics related to events

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
A minimum of three years professional experience in event planning or a related field.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Blackbaud, Google suite and Microsoft Excel and Word.
