Sacramento Country Day School, the regional leader in Pre-K-12th grade independent school education since 1964, seeks a Lower School Physical Education Teacher to add to our excellent faculty.

This is a full-time position with benefits (100% employer paid medical, dental and vision for employee only), beginning August 16, 2024. The salary range is $52,000 to $95,000 depending on education and years of experience. Country Day School embraces the ideals of a liberal arts education. We are seeking an overtly warm and supportive teacher who is:

  • An expert at building a classroom community
  • Skilled in developing and teaching the PE curriculum of movement education
  • Experienced at showcasing students’ PE work
  • A great collaborator who works with teachers to integrate their subjects into PE
  • Engages with parents as partners in their children’s growth and development
  • Enjoys working with children
  • Can meet the needs of a wide range of learners
  • Responsive Classroom training is a plus
  • Has experience with Elementary Movement Education including but not limited to George Graham, Holt, Hale, Parker, Robert Pangrazi

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology or Physical Education
  • Two years or more of PE teaching experience, at the Lower School level (K-5)
  • Single subject teaching credential preferred (CCTC approved program)
  • Curriculum development experience
  • Openness and flexibility in designing improved learning experiences
  • Values collegial collaboration and individual improvement

School requirements: background check, First Aid/CPR trained (school sponsored), negative TB result.
