Pay Rate: $115,000-$125,000 dependent on experience

Supervises: Assistant AD for Student-Athlete Performance

Position Summary

The Director of Health & Sports Performance will oversee all phases of health care in the athletic program and school community. The role will include establishing and implementing procedures for the prevention, evaluation, and management of injuries. The position serves as the initial contact for all first aid and emergency care to our students. The role provides coverage at all practices and designated schoolwide events on the Presentation campus. Critically important is the management of all aspects of our concussion management protocols, from baseline testing to diagnosis, return to learn, and return to play protocols. The role serves as a crucial communicator with coaches, program directors, student-athletes, families, Presentation staff, as well as physicians to ensure the full support of students. Additionally, the role serves as a critical collaborator and stakeholder in the implementation of the athletic departments’ programmatic priorities.

 

Duties and Specific Responsibilities

Establish and implement schoolwide procedures for first aid and emergency care for our school community (member of our Emergency Response Team).
Manage all aspects of the school’s concussion management protocols.
Set the sports medicine & sports performance priorities for the school.
Manage all aspects of the athletic training program, including the equipment and budget, as well as Athletics’ Emergency Action Plan and response protocols.
Collaborate on all strength and conditioning programming, with a focus on injury prevention methodologies.
Contribute to the academic offering in collaboration with the Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction.
Take care of all daily training room tasks, including maintenance of equipment, stocking and inventorying all supplies, and accurate record keeping of all treatments and evaluations.
Work in collaboration with the Health Office to ensure that all health records and procedures are executed and appropriate.
Maintain records and communicate clearly and frequently with all key stakeholders on injury status and updates (verbal & written).
Manage the seasonal medical processes for all teams (first aid kits for coaches< emergency contact lists, etc.).
Facilitate CPR and First Aid courses to keep the coaching staff and Presentation faculty current with their certifications.
Attend seasonal coaches and parent meetings.
Serve as a mentor and resource to the coaching staff.
Serve as a key collaborator on the athletic department’s long-term vision and implementation.
Other duties as assigned.
