IMMEDIATE OPENING: Development Associate

(Full-time beginning Fall/2022-23 school year)

Summary

The Development Associate reports to the Director of Advancement and will work closely with the Director of Annual Giving, Alumni Relations Director, Director of Leadership Giving, Database Manager, and other School staff. Primary responsibilities include database management, gift entry and acknowledgements, direct mail/email appeals, fundraising volunteer support, and administrative tasks.

 

Responsibilities

Database Management

Responsible for primary constituent record keeping in Raiser’s Edge donor database-  record updates, changes, including address, phone, business and other contact info
Perform gift entry on a daily basis, generate letters and pledge reminders
Prospect Research and Donor Stewardship

Oversee donor stewardship, including annual endowment reporting, campaign acknowledgements and ad-hoc requests
Conduct prospect research on prospective donors and key stakeholders
Annual Giving

Support for Annual Giving volunteers such as tracking of prospect assignments, notifying volunteers when gifts are made, support for phonathons and volunteer trainings
Implement email and postal mail appeals, working with email platform and mailhouse to ensure segmentation quality and timeliness
Integration of prospect research, parent data and other sources to central database
Events

Serve as primary event support backup for Special Events Coordinator, as needed. Back-up tasks may include coordinating logistical details for events, timelines, invitations, RSVPs tracking and name tags.
Attend school-related events, as needed
Office Management and Administrative Tasks

Act as the primary reception for the Advancement Office, including greeting visitors and answering general calls directed to the Advancement Office, admin support to Director of Advancement
Track and monitor the office budget, coordinating closely with business office on reconciliation
Skills and Qualifications 

The ideal candidate is an organized, self-motivated individual with excellent attention to detail and written communication skills. The Development Associate must be detail-oriented, provide meticulous follow-through, and be able to effectively multi-task. Strong interpersonal, analytical, technological, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to use time productively, will serve the candidate well. Desire to work as part of a team, flexibility, a collaborative spirit, and willingness to proactively help when needed are essential.
The candidate must possess excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Google suite. Strong preference will be given to candidates with Raiser’s Edge or Blackbaud experience. Expertise in working with designers and/or desktop publishing would be a plus. Some evening and weekend work will be required, with significant advanced notice.
Other Requirements

Must be fully vaccinated (and boosted) against Covid-19 and show proof of negative TB test within the last four years in addition to participation in background screening.
