Position Description:

Town School for Boys seeks applications for the Director of Extended Day Programs (EDP) and Learning Enrichment Activities Program (LEAP) beginning in the 2024-25 school year. The Director of EDP and LEAP works closely and in collaboration with administration and faculty to operate the after school program.

The Extended Day Program (EDP) provides a safe, fun, and caring environment for approximately 100 Lower School students and acts as an extension of the school day before classes start in the morning and after dismissal. The program encourages boys to make friends among grade levels, socioeconomic backgrounds, and cultures, while fostering a love of learning across different activities. These activities include, but are not limited to, sporting games, arts and crafts, cooking projects, engineering tasks, and science experiments, led by EDP teachers, and LEAP (Learning Enrichment Activities Program) which are interest-specific classes taught by faculty members or professionals and specialists from outside the school.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Create systems for and manage program marketing, registration, billing, and collection of program fees
Effectively manage the EDP team, lead EDP staff development, build team culture, and facilitate team meetings
Create and provide feedback for EDP curriculum
Oversee and implement program development with innovative approaches to instruction and care
Actively engage with students during program hours (e.g. assisting with homework, supervising play time, and supporting creative projects)
Communicate and consult with Division Heads regarding any student incidents or issues
Oversee daily attendance, schedule, arrival, and dismissal of students
Hire, train, manage, and mentor EDP Team/Staff
Review EDP Team timesheets, determine work and schedule assignments, secure guest teacher/substitute cover and/or cover assignments as necessary
Oversee management of facility, logistical needs, inventory supplies, and track expenses
Maintain communication with parents and guardians, and faculty and administration, for both day-to-day and long term program management
Work collaboratively with the security team to ensure safe student arrival and departure communications and procedures
LEAP (Learning Enrichment Activities Program):

Research, recruit, and employ outside professionals and/or vendors and Town School faculty each trimester to provide fun and enriching classes
Develop and maintain a LEAP payment structure for classes, track invoices, and process payments to programs and faculty
Maintain communication with parents, faculty, and administration regarding registration, class information, enrollment, and facility use
Create all registration packets and forms with class information for families each term
Financial Aspects:

Project anticipated enrollment and expenses for all programs (EDP + LEAP)
In partnership with the Head of School and CFO create fee structure, track and maintain payment records for registration, and provide receipts for enrollees
Manage and organize EDP/LEAP and day camp budgets and semester billing
Work with the Business Office using program software to run, analyze and finalize financial records for monthly reconciliation
Arrange and coordinate payment for LEAP teachers and vendors
Arrange and coordinate payroll for Extended Day Teachers and Staff
Desired Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in Education or similar field
Three years of experience working with Elementary school-aged children
Ability to effectively lead and collaborate with a team,work in a high paced, team environment, and maintain organized and efficient systems of communication and documentation
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students and parents/guardians regarding rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Technical and computer skills as required for job performance
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
Must be eligible to work in the United States, be able to pass a criminal background check, and be able to provide a TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire completed by a licensed healthcare provider

Salary Information: At Town, salaries are one component of a compensation package that includes retirement matching, daily lunch, health & dental insurance, and life, AD & LTD insurance. The anticipated full-time annual base salary range the school reasonably expects to pay candidates for the position of Director of Extended Day Programs is $85,000-$110,000, depending on factors such as years of experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity with our current employees as a part of any final offer.
