Educational Technologist
Reports To: Head of Middle School

FLSA Classification: Full-Time Exempt

Compensation: $64,000-$140,000 based on experience and degree

Start Date: Immediate Opening

OVERVIEW
The San Francisco School seeks an innovative educational technologist who is interested in working with teachers to thoughtfully integrate technology into learning and with students to foster digital literacy and other technological skills. The educational technologist is an educator at heart who will stay up-to-date with best practices for technology use in and out of the classroom. The Educational Technologist will immerse themself into the life of the school and be a leader in educational technology and digital citizenship curriculum. This role is a highly collaborative one that requires attention to building relationships.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Educational Technologist  will:

  • Empower students and teachers to explore and responsibly develop their intellectual and creative ideas using various technological tools
  • Meet with and support all classroom teachers with technology integration across various units of study
  • Support interdisciplinary experiences across lower and middle school divisions by collaborating with teachers
  • Develop and lead professional development in the best practices of educational technology
  • Teach relevant class(es) in technology, digital media and literacy, visual and audio recording, and other creative realms
  • Be an advisor for a cohort of middle school students
  • Partner with the Technology Services Manager to manage the school-wide Learning Management System
  • Approve applications for classroom use
  • Oversee the technology and digital citizenship curricula for students, staff, and families, and the institutional technology philosophy
  • Develop the policy, approach, and implementation of AI best practices for education
  • Develop club / elective experiences for students
  • Curate technology resources for classroom use by teachers
  • Foster a climate that honors students with a variety of learning styles and needs
  • Supervise the Learning Commons when students can use the space
  • Supervise duties as assigned by the division heads
  • Provide backup support with help desk requests in collaboration with the Technology Services Manager

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Graduate degree preferred
  • Classroom teaching experience
  • Technology enthusiast and innovator with a wide range of technology-based skills
  • Fluency with MacOS, ChromeOS, Google Workspace, Google Apps for Education, Apple TV, web applications, and presentation software
  • Database and grading applications competence
