Job Summary:

 

San Francisco Friends School (sffs), seeks a 12 month, full time, non-exempt Systems Support Administrator. This associate level technology position reports to the Director of Educational Technology and is responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, distributing and maintaining Apple iOS and OS X and Microsoft Windows devices, computers, peripherals and AV equipment. Additionally, this person is expected to take a lead in researching and implementing solutions to the school’s technical needs and challenges along with providing hands-on management of client systems and classroom AV.

 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

●      Image, upgrade, troubleshoot and repair Apple (550) and PC (25) computers and peripheral devices such as printers, cameras, and other mobile devices

●      Maintain Jamf instance for managing all Apple devices

●      Troubleshoot Meraki network as needed

●      Maintain and periodically audit server backups

●      Maintain inventory of equipment and software using FileMaker Pro database

●      Provide support and training for all campus wide applications

●      Provide support and maintenance for all audio-visual equipment

●      Responsible for sign-out of equipment (e.g. laptops, cameras, cables, etc.)

●      Manage helpdesk system

●      Complete helpdesk work orders as assigned

●      Provide support for Google Apps For Education

●      Provide a strong customer service focused approach

●      Assist teachers and students with classroom media and technology projects

●      Provide AV support for school events, which are occasionally after regular work hours

●      Work with outside vendors as needed

●      Perform tasks delegated by a supervisor

 

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or
Associates Degree in related field with 3 or more years IT related experience
Expert knowledge of JAMF, Apple OS X and iOS
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, related network services (i.e. DNS, SMTP, DHCP)
Experience supporting wireless networks
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical users
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to recognize, analyze, and effectively solve problems in a timely and organized manner
Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred skills and qualifications:

Apple-certified Desktop and Portable Technician
Experience with FileMaker Pro Server
Knowledge of Synology NAS
Knowledge of Windows Server
Patience, humor and excellent people skills

Physical requirements:

Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time and have good mobility skills.
Must be able to stoop, kneel, and reach and extend arms in any direction.
Must have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: viewing a computer terminal and similar devices, extensive reading, etc.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
