Job Description and Desired Qualifications
The LT substitute teacher is a dynamic and flexible educator who has experience in executing lesson plans and teaching across grades. The ideal candidate is committed to academic excellence and diversity and understands the social and emotional growth and development of children in Kindergarten – 5th grades. This individual will have a strong commitment to meeting the learning needs of each student, a teaching style that supports differentiation of instruction, a collaborative spirit, and an interest in building community in and outside of the classroom. Responsibilities will include teaching language arts, math, history, P.E., music, art, garden, cooking, Spanish, library, and/or science. Average class size is 18-22 students.
This is a full-time position for the 2022-23 school year, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays)
Perform all other assigned school-related duties (e.g. recess supervision, meetings, etc.)
– Bachelor of Arts
– Minimum of 3 years teaching experience
– Candidate must have effective classroom management skills
– Candidate has strong communication and organizational skills and is motivated to work with a strong existing team
Desired Qualifications and Traits:
– Teaching credential or Master’s Degree
– Integration of technology in curriculum

The anticipated salary range the school reasonably expects to pay candidates for the position of K-5 Long Term Substitute Teacher is $62,353 to $100,933, depending on factors such as experience and education.
