Salary Range $20,000 – $40,000 for three months
School Description
Presidio Hill School is an independent, progressive school located in the Presidio Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. Our school serves a diverse population of approximately 230 students enrolled in transitional kindergarten to 8th grade, with a faculty and staff of approximately 45 people.

Position Description
PHS seeks a full-time Kindergarten Extended Leave Lead Teacher to cover leave from March through June. The ideal candidate brings experience with early elementary learners, progressive education, and anti-bias teaching, and can step into a warm, well-supported team environment.
In addition to providing excellent instruction and maintaining effective communication with parents and students, teachers are expected to contribute to the broader PHS community and participate in school events. PHS teachers work closely with one another, collaborating and engaging positively; excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead a safe, joyful, and inclusive Kindergarten classroom community
- Plan and teach literacy, math, social studies, and science with hands-on, differentiated instruction
- Collaborate closely with the Kindergarten team, Lower School colleagues, and specialists (Arts, Music, PE, Spanish)
- Observe and communicate student growth; partner effectively with families
- Support classroom routines, materials, and day-to-day operations
- Supervise recess/lunch duties and support an assistant teacher/apprentice as applicable
Skills, Qualifications, and Experiences
- 3+ years teaching experience in TK–2 (or comparable) strongly preferred
- Commitment to progressive, student-centered learning and inclusive practice
- Strong organization, communication, and collaboration skills
- Comfort with Google Workspace/iPads and outdoor learning
