Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging work continues to evolve before our eyes, with challenges posed by legislative action, intensely engaged community members with differing beliefs, and a society impacted by acts of intolerance, ignorance, and malice. As schools react to current conditions and strive to create communities of belonging and support, new ideas and strategies are needed, in both proactive and reactive work. We seek a leader who brings the highest level of strategic knowledge and experience to EDIB work, someone actively engaged in supporting a community and willing to create models that will lead the way for community and independent school EDIB work.
Successful candidates in this search will be asked to provide concrete examples of their work in the advancement of EDIB in their organizations, share cases illustrating their experience in handling sensitive and complex situations, and to propose new strategies worth considering. Strong instincts and a caring approach are important, but so is practical experience supported by an extensive knowledge base of best practices and lessons learned.
Reporting to the Head of School and a member of the School’s Senior Administrative Team, the successful candidate will be a thoughtful leader who is capable of both high-level strategic thinking as well as comfortable serving as a visionary, advocate, educator, and internal consultant. The Director will be a champion for initiatives central to our success including Student Belonging, Family Support and Engagement, Admissions Outreach, Professional Development for parents, faculty and staff, and Student Academic Support.
This is a full-time, 12-month position, with a flexible starting date.
