French American + International is a PK-12 independent school in San Francisco.  Founded in 1962, the school is a multicultural, multilingual educational institution with over 1,100 students across an urban campus in the heart of the city.

Position

The Maternelle Coordinator and Extended Care Program Director assists the Principal in organizing and fostering a positive, safe environment that is conducive to best meeting the specialized needs of our youngest students as well as teachers, staff, and parents. Responsibilities include overseeing the coordination of the extended care program for our campus. The ideal candidate for this key role at our stand-alone campus PK/K campus will be knowledgeable, resourceful, and service-oriented, and have a desire to interact with children as a core part of their role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to :

Communications as well as on the phone and in person. Collaborate with the Principal, counselor, and teachers to foster the school-parent partnership through all communication channels.
Interact with children regularly, including supervision as needed, handling discipline issues, facilitating pickup and drop-off, and other duties.
Communicate with the health staff regarding student illnesses and injuries.

 

MATERNELLE COORDINATOR

Collaborate with Lower School staff in scheduling substitute teachers; welcome and onboard subs in coordination with HR Department
Translate ECE state regulations into daily practices and program policies.
Maintain accurate records in the school database; maintain appropriate records as needed for licensing requirements.
Liaise with facilities, security, technology and other staff to support safe and effective operations.
Support the Principal in tracking purchases and other expenses; manage ordering.
Attend and supervise school, afterschool, evening and weekend school sponsored events and activities as assigned.
Other duties as necessary to support the Principal in overseeing and supervising all aspects of the Maternelle.

 

MATERNELLE DIRECTOR FOR THE EXTENDED CARE PROGRAM

Work closely with the Maternelle Principal to design and implement a varied and meaningful program that meets the needs of program participants and the school mission and values.
Collaborate with the Director of the Extended Care Program on Oak Campus to assure accurate communication between the sections.
Manage day-to-day operations of the Extended Care Program to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
Recruit, train, coach and supervise extended care staff.
Supervise Children in ECP program as needed.

Qualifications

Ability to lead a team of supervisors
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families
3-5 years of experience working in an early childhood education center, daycare or after school setting required
Bachelor’s degree in an educational field
Bilingual in French preferred but not required
Necessary ECE training can be obtained on the job and will be paid for by the employer.
First Aid and CPR certification required and training will be provided if necessary.
