The Hamlin School, a K-8 all girls independent school, is hiring Basketball, Soccer and Running Club coaches for the Winter 2019 -2020 season.
JV Basketball GOLD Coach
This position will be essential to the growth of the program and coaching Grades 6-8 girls. The JV Coach will have a foundational knowledge of the game, can teach fundamentals, and will work closely with the Varsity coach in order to teach the strategies needed to develop their players to be varsity players in the future. This coach needs to be fundamentally sound and excited to work with players to develop them for more competitive play. Prior coaching experience with this age group is preferred.
Season: Early November – Early February
Pre-Season Clinic: November 8 from 2:30-4:00pm
Tryouts: November 11-13 from 3:30-5:00pm
Practice Days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
Practice Times: 3:30-5:00pm
Game Schedule: We play in the BAIAL (www.baial.net) with a 6 game season plus playoffs. No weekend games.
Stipend: $2,300-$2,500 depending on experience
JV Basketball RED Coach (Depending on numbers)
This position will be focused on the fundamental skill development of players in Grades 6-8 who are new to the game or are interested in building their skills in a less competitive team environment. This coach needs to be enthusiastic and possess a solid understanding of the basic skills of basketball (dribbling, passing, shooting, etc.). Prior coaching experience is preferred.
Season: Early November – Early February
Pre-Season Clinic: November 8 from 2:30-4:00pm
(No Tryouts)
Practice Days: Monday, Wednesday
Practice Times: 3:30-5:00pm
Game Schedule: We will be scheduling scrimmages and some games with other schools.
Stipend: $1,800 – $2,000 depending on experience
Grade 6 Basketball Coach (2 needed depending on number of players)
The Grade 6 coaching positions will be focused on the fundamental skill development of players while preparing them with the skills and strategies needed to play at a higher level in the future. These two coaches need to possess a solid understanding of the basic skills of basketball (dribbling, passing, shooting, etc.) and be able to manage as close to equal playing time for all players as possible. Prior playing experience is required and prior coaching experience is preferred.
Season: Early November – Early February (No Tryouts)
Practice Days: Monday, Wednesday
Practice Times: 3:30-5:00pm
Location: Roof, Gym
Game Schedule: We play in the BAIAL (www.baial.net) with a 6 game season and playoffs. No weekend games.
Stipend: $1,800 – $2,000 depending on experience
Grade 5 Soccer Coach
The Grade 5 Soccer coaching positions will be focused on the fundamental skill development of players new to the game. These two coaches need to possess a solid understanding of the basic skills of soccer (passing, dribbling, shooting, etc.) and be able to manage equal playing time for all players. Prior playing experience is required and prior coaching experience is preferred.
Season: Early November – Early February

Practice Days: Tuesday, Thursday
Practice Times: 3:30-5:00pm
Location: Fort Scott
Game Schedule: We play most schools in our league who have a Grade 5 team. No weekend games.
Stipend: $1,800 – $2,000 depending on experience

TB Test
First Aid/CPR Certified (reimbursement available)
Concussion Certification
PCA Double Goal Coach Certificate (not required but highly recommended)
