Vanguard Spring 2024 Registration Information

On Saturday, May 18 from 9:00 am until noon there will be a conference hosted by Black Pine Circle School specifically geared towards students who identify as African-American and Black young men in grades 5-12 enrolled in independent and parochial schools. The genesis of this event goes back over a decade when a group of Black male educators decided that we needed to bring our fantastic young men together to support their growth and celebrate them.

This event is put on in collaboration with Black Pine Circle School, The Branson School, De La Salle High School, Live Oak School, San Francisco University High School and The Seven Hills School.

Workshops and panels will be led by educators for students in 5th/6th, 7th/8th, high school students, and adults. The keynote speaker will be Rahsaan Thompson, Chair of Oakland Museum of California. We will also honor Tony Green, AP African American Studies Teacher at Bishop O’Dowd High School.

We hope to have a packed house for our boys and young men.
