The Carey School seeks a dedicated, creative and experienced educator to join our early childhood teaching team as an Assistant Teacher. Our preschool program is rooted in the Developmentally Appropriate Practice and draws on philosophies of the Reggio Emilia approach, providing structured and open-ended play time for children to build SEL skills, develop relationships and “learn through doing” with using emergent curriculum themes. Candidates must have a minimum of 12 ECE units and at least 3 years of early childhood experience. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of developmental stages of childhood, strong classroom management strategies and a willingness to learn from and work with a Lead Teacher to assist and lead small and large group lessons, including daily meetings, literacy workshops and math lessons. Additionally, candidates will have demonstrated successful communication and collaboration with colleagues including, grade level partners and specialist teachers.
