JOB OPENING: High School Mandarin Teacher
REPORTS TO: Assistant Principal for Academics
LOCATION: In-person on Campus in San Francisco, CA
STATUS: EXEMPT, FULL TIME, NOT REMOTE
SALARY RANGE: $85,000-$120,000 (Subject to experience and qualifications)

PRIMARY ROLE:
Teach 5 SECTIONS OF MANDARIN ONSITE, NOT-REMOTE
Position Overview
We seek a dynamic and mission-driven Mandarin Teacher who is passionate about teaching and committed to educating the whole student. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative learning environment, contribute to the life of the school beyond the classroom, and demonstrate excellence in instruction, communication, and professional growth.
A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE IN THIS POSITION WILL BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE:

- The ability to collaborate in a dynamic professional learning community to develop curriculum, lessons, and assessments
- Effective and engaging teaching practices, with a genuine enthusiasm for working with adolescents
- Skillful integration of educational technology while maintaining a classroom environment centered on inquiry and student engagement

- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Passion for the subject matter and the ability to inspire student interest

- The ability to teach across multiple grade levels

- Willingness to expand teaching responsibilities as program enrollment grows
- An openness to and flexibility for teaching more sections of Mandarin in the future, as the program enrollment grows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese or a closely related field (advanced degrees encouraged).
- Fluency in Mandarin
- Teaching credential in Mandarin preferred
- Mastery of subject matter and ability to teach across multiple grade levels.
- Successful teaching experience at the secondary school and/or university level.
- Demonstrated experience integrating educational technology effectively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment
