The Carey School
The Carey School, a Preschool to 5th grade independent school in San Mateo, California is seeking a creative, energetic and responsible 3rd grade assistant teacher. This role works with both 3rd grade lead teachers, participating in classroom lessons and grade level planning. The ideal candidate will possess experience with elementary-aged children and prove to be adept with classroom management and lesson execution. Qualified candidates will have a love of children and knowledge of the developmental levels that span Kindergarten to fifth grade. Candidates in teaching programs, or those interested in a teaching career, are encouraged to apply. This role is a temporary, full-time, non-exempt position with benefits starting Monday, March 2nd, 2026, with the possibility of extension for the 2026-2027 school year. The anticipated hourly rate the school reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is $35-$40 per hour, depending on factors such as experience and/or education.
