Sacramento Country Day School, the regional leader in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade independent school education since 1964, seeks a part-time robotics instructor to lead our Lower School (grade 5) program and assist with our Middle School (grades 6-8) program in competing in the FIRST LEGO League. The hourly rate for this position will be between $25 and 30/hour, depending on experience.
Hours: 3:00-5:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from January – May 2026.

· Experience with robotics in an educational setting, preferably LEGO
· Enthusiasm for working with students aged 10-14
· Interest in learning new skills alongside students
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and engage young learners
· Patience, creativity, and a passion for STEM education
· Strong commitment to equity and inclusion
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead Lower School Robotics program, assist with Middle School Robotics program
· Provide guidance and support to students as they design, build, and program LEGO robots for competition
· Foster a positive and engaging learning environment
· Collaborate with program leaders to plan and prepare instructional materials
· Help the students troubleshoot and solve problems with their projects and their peers
· Ensure that all safety protocols and guidelines are followed
School requirements include: Background check, First Aid/CPR training (school-sponsored), negative TB result.
