Web Administrator and Social Media Manager

Position Description:The Web Administrator and Social Media Manager will lead the implementation of web services and social media marketing at The Athenian School. The successful candidate will participate in Athenian community events and should be comfortable interacting with students, parents, trustees, alumni, external vendors and colleagues. The Web Administrator and Social Media Manager will report directly to the Director of Admission and Financial Aid. Primary Responsibilities
• Manage the daily content of Athenian’s web site with an understanding of the needs of both internal and external audiences.
• Utilize the web as an instrumental marketing and communications tool, collaborating with School constituents in its use.
• Gather and generate content for Athenian’s web site and other sites which portray the School.
In consultation with appropriate colleagues, update the School’s presence on Facebook, YouTube, our blog and other web sites and services.Website Administration
• Manage and evolve an innovative website for The Athenian School.
• Develop protocols and train administrators and staff how to upload content.Content Development and Management:
• Originate, review and edit online content to best represent The Athenian School.
• Review all web content to ensure consistency of format, tone and terminology.
• Collaborate with School administration, students, parents and faculty to manage and append content, keeping it up-to-date.
• Update and edit images for use on the website.
• Cross-publish content on social media outlets.
• Prepare and edit videos for use on the website and other sites (Facebook, YouTube, etc.). Analysis
• Analyze year-over-year site metrics (such as unique visitors, visits and page views).
• Increase traffic to the site by improving SEO.Requirements
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience managing a web content that targets both internal and external constituents
• Strong computer and technical skills, including the ability to use software for web applications in creating content: video, photography, etc.
• Solid project management skills – able to oversee several projects concurrently and meet deadlines effectively.Desirable Qualifications
• Excellent interpersonal skills and substantial experience in supporting adults to use a wide variety of technology.
• Experience using a content management system in a professional environment.
• Appreciation for and ability to clearly articulate the mission of The Athenian School.
• Experience in independent schools.
