Part-time Choir Director: Pacific Boychoir Academy

Part Time Choir Director— Beginning August 2014

We are looking for qualified candidates with experience in choral education to join our Grammy-winning conducting team.

The Pacific Boychoir Academy, located in Oakland, CA, was founded in 1998 and is one of America’s leading boys choirs. The choristers (over 170 of them) range in age from 5-18, and participate at various skill- and age-appropriate levels. The PBA provides an unmatched educational, musical, and personal development experience for boys. The Boychoir’s reputation for excellence has earned performances with the San Francisco Symphony and San Francisco Opera, the UC Berkeley and UC Davis Symphonies, the American Bach Soloists, the Moscow Chamber Orchestra, the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, and many local, national, and international choirs. The Pacific Boychoir has presented concerts in many US states and in various countries on four continents. Teachers at the PBA are keen to channel boy energy in productive and interesting ways to keep boys engaged and hungry to learn. The PBA also runs its own school, the first boys school in the East Bay, a member of the East Bay Independent Schools Association (EBISA).

Direct the Cantori group, the top-level after school choir of 20-30 boys, mostly age 10-13 (grades 5-8), as well as the Trouvere ensemble (a subset of the Cantori group, typically 4-8 boys).
