The New Teacher Institute at Town School for Boys is seeking full-time Lower School Resident Teachers to join our collaborative, vibrant, and joyful faculty beginning mid-August 2023.

Lower School Resident Teacher

Our two-year program emphasizes daily teaching, curriculum planning, and professional development.  The NTI provides structured training for beginning teachers including lesson observations and feedback, meetings and workshops with the cohort, support from the Head Teacher, and total immersion in the school community.

Through the program Resident Teachers will:

• Develop a culturally responsive and differentiated approach to teaching
• Plan, prepare, and present lessons and units of study
• Apply best practices for student engagement and employ student-centered and effective classroom management strategies
• Integrate meaningful use of technology in their practice
• Actively collaborate with teaching colleagues
• Effectively communicate with parents, including report writing and parent conferencing
• Engage in ongoing reflection and application of feedback to their practice

Resident Teacher roles are full-time, paid positions. The First Year Resident Teacher salary for the current school year, 2022-23, is $55,500. Updated information will be shared as soon as it is available. All Resident Teachers receive full medical and dental benefits. Additional opportunities are available for supplemental income. Tuition assistance for credential and/or graduate school programs is also available.
