JOB OPENING: High School Librarian
REPORTS TO: Assistant Principal for Academics
LOCATION: In-person on Campus in San Francisco, CA
STATUS: EXEMPT, FULL TIME, NOT REMOTE
SALARY RANGE: $85,000-$120,000 (Subject to experience and qualifications)

PRIMARY ROLE:
Teach 5 SECTIONS of RELIGIOUS STUDIES (should be able to teach across the curriculum) ONSITE, IN CLASSROOM SETTING (This is NOT a remote position).

Position Overview
We seek a dynamic and mission-driven Religious Studies Teacher with a focus on academic achievement and critical thinking skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to process sophisticated theological concepts with adolescents and collaborate extensively in the context of a Jesuit, Catholic institution. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative learning environment, contribute to the life of the school beyond the classroom, and demonstrate excellence in instruction, communication, and professional growth.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- A clear commitment to the mission of the school which emphasizes teaching the whole student by contributing to extracurriculars and campus ministry
- Strong teaching ability; enjoys working with adolescents
- Excellent oral and written skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well with students and colleagues; willingness to be an active, enthusiastic member of the SI community in ministry and co-curricular activities
- Obvious passion for the academic subject matter being taught
- Willingness to adapt to an existing curriculum as well as contribute ideas to enhance the respective academic programs
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- Excellent educational technology skills
- Possesses a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
- Thrives in a collaborative, dynamic, and faithful learning community to develop curricula, lessons, and assessments

Qualifications:
- Strong academic background in Theology or Religious Studies, with a Masters Degree or its equivalent preferred
- Teaching experience in secondary education is preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment
- Background and experience in equity and inclusion work
- Appreciation of teens and understanding of their developmental stages
- Proficient with educational technology
- Understand and support the Ignatian Mission, Vision and Culture of the school
