Spanish Teacher

100% FTE position

Starts August 7, 2020


We seek a team member with a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education or a subject area field who is:

  • talented, student-centered + inspiring educator
  • dynamic Spanish language and Latinx cultural specialist
  • inquiry-based classroom teacher
  • innovator in a 1:1 iPad learning environment
  • culturally competent, engaged community member
  • excellent communicator + collaborator
  • compassionate guide for the Middle School and Upper Elementary years
  • stand-up comedian…or at least has a good sense of humor


The Work:

  • Teach 3 sections of Middle School Spanish (Grades 6-8) 

         + 1 section of Upper Elementary Spanish 

  • Foster a love + joy for the Spanish language and world language studies
  • Collaborate with department colleagues to design + implement courses
  • Implement World Readiness Standards by ACTFL for Language Learning 
  • Cultivate students’ sound skills (speaking, listening, pronunciation) + work habits
  • Integrate technology into teaching + learning
  • Design innovative electives, clubs, +  thematic-based learning opportunities to deepen understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures
  • Employ strategies to address different learners
  • Advise 12 Middle School students
  • Partner with parents + guardians
  • Participate in outdoor/travel overnight education trips
