Innovation and Technology Teacher

Innovation and Technology classes offer students increasing opportunities to engage in design and innovation, problem solving and engineering, and the basics of coding, robotics, photography, and videography while working on collaborative projects. Students develop skills such as building, electronic circuitry, robotics, and 3D printing.

The Serendipity School Innovation program embraces a child’s sense of wonder and possibility, and instills the prerequisite skills needed to enter our technological world. Occurring in the Innovation Lab as well as in the classrooms, our program is entirely hands-on, active, and joyful. In our upper grades, the students build on the knowledge they’ve gained in the lower grades to learn more sophisticated coding and application. Our Innovation and Technology teacher works closely with the classroom teachers to integrate and utilize technology to enhance student learning in the classroom and the Innovation Lab.

The ideal candidate embraces the dynamic and creative nature of working in a progressive learning environment and the ability to create curriculum related to the grade level content and student interest.

Requested Skills

Experience in elementary teaching Innovation, and/or Design/Maker Space, and/orTechnology
An understanding of the academic, social, and emotional needs of elementary-age students
Excellent communication skills, with an ability to collaborate positively and effectively with students, parents, faculty, and staff
