Marin Academy

Marin Academy seeks a full-time Senior Associate Director of Admissions to begin prior to the 2018-19 academic school year. This position will report to the Director of Admissions. The primary responsibilities of the Senior Associate Director of Admissions include managing the day-to-day Admissions Office operations and staff, participating in all phases of the admission process, and maintaining responsibilities for outreach, recruitment, and financial aid. With the Director of Admissions, the Senior Associate Director develops a vision for recruitment that is facile and broadens the exposure of Marin Academy to new and diverse communities.

The Senior Associate Director of Admissions represents the Admissions Office and Marin Academy at public events, on- and off-campus, and shares the school’s values, while attracting students of the strongest academic caliber who also contribute meaningfully to the greater life of the school through the arts, athletics, and service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Represents Marin Academy publically during daily visits, school fairs, Open Houses, and other information sessions both on- and off-campus
  • Oversees and executes strategic approaches for broad-based multicultural recruitment
  • Oversees and directs Marin Academy’s financial aid program
  • Plans and implements admissions, enrollment, and operational strategies
  • Directly oversees the day-to-day work of the Admissions Associate
  • Creates an Action Plan for annual admissions recruitment
  • Interviews prospective students/families to share information relevant to Marin Academy and the admissions process
  • Evaluates credentials of applicants and participates in admissions decisions
  • Coordinates admissions office volunteers including faculty, administrators, students, parents, and alumni
  • Represents Marin Academy to a variety of constituencies
  • With Director of Admissions, works with the Communications Office to produce all Admissions marketing materials
  • Coordinates Open Houses and all other on-campus events and programs
  • Coordinates Admissions Fellows Program
  • Assists the Director of Admissions with all other duties as assigned

Professional Qualities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree preferred
  • Strong leadership in independent schools and/or higher education admissions
  • Demonstrated success in marketing, recruitment, outreach, and enrollment management
  • Financial aid budget management experience
  • Data fluency and the ability to think strategically
  • Ability to take initiative

Marin Academy is situated on a 10-acre campus at the base of the hills of San Rafael, CA in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a 9-12 grade independent, college preparatory high school, we have an enrollment of 420 students with academic talent, interest in the arts and athletics, and a passion for a multitude of issues. Our students come from San Francisco, the East Bay, and Sonoma in addition to Marin County. Marin Academy has a block schedule in which classes meet every other day for 75-minute periods.
