Purpose Statement
The Keyboard Music Teacher is responsible for the instruction, oversight, and promotion of programs that address the diversity of music interests of our student body, develop our students’ music literacy, and advance our Music program. This person must be a versatile and experienced teacher with excellent communication and organizational skills as well as the ability and desire to work in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.

Job Responsibilities
The Keyboard Music Teacher will be responsible for the following:

Teaching:

Lower School group keyboard and general music instruction
Opportunity for possible private and small group lessons
Planning, supervising and implementing music programs in accordance with the curriculum, student learning objectives, policies, and philosophy of the school, in conjunction with the Director of Music
Gearing the program to the needs of individual children with concern for their interests, special talents, and individual style and pace of learning
Planning & Supervision:

Being available for prompt and daily parent contact; email, phone call, in person.
Being well-versed and interested in the use of technology and attentive to email and document sharing accounts.
Work closely with the Director of Music and music faculty to seek community-building activities, ensure curriculum development, as well as document and report possible opportunities for press releases and events within the Marin community.
Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Qualifications
An ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Music Education, or commensurate experience
Advanced keyboard skills
Experience teaching in a keyboard lab setting
Experience working with students with a range of musical experience
Advanced knowledge of GarageBand for iOS, GarageBand for Mac, and Logic Pro
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate internally and externally
Good computer proficiency (iPad, Mac computer, Gmail/Google Drive, MS Office)
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
Compensation
The salary range for this 0.05 FTE position is $6,000 to $6,800 annually, commensurate with skill set and experience. This position is eligible for school-provided daily lunch on work days.
