The part-time (.25 FTE) Library Assistant supports the Librarian in our K-8 library, which houses over 14,000 volumes in a beautiful space. The Library Assistant supports the circulation desk and will assist with online databases, student research projects, and parent/guardian volunteer education as needed.
The Library Assistant is committed to the mission and vision of Redwood Day and possesses the following characteristics:
· Coursework in Library Science (preferred)
· Experience working in a library
Essential Job Functions:
· Check in/out library materials
· Shelve incoming books and materials
· Send overdue notices
· Assist with collection management
· Monitor subscription renewals for magazines and newspapers
Assist librarians with classes, especially at checkout time
Help librarians and teachers by pulling books for specific topics or class units
Assist librarians with creating and maintaining book/subject lists
Assist with displays and maintaining a welcoming library space
Monitor library supplies and order as needed
Help provide parent/guardian volunteer education
Additional duties as assigned
This is a 10-month, non-benefits eligible, part-time (.25 FTE), non-exempt position.
The anticipated pay range the school reasonably expects to pay candidates for the part-time (.25 FTE) position of Library Assistant is $24 to $28 per hour, depending on factors such as experience and education.
