French American + International is a PK-12 independent school in San Francisco.  Founded in 1962, the school is a multicultural, multilingual educational institution with over 1,100 students across an urban campus in the heart of the city.

Position

The Maternelle Coordinator assists the Principal and the Extended Care Program Director in organizing and fostering a positive, safe environment that is conducive to best meeting the needs of all students, staff, and parents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to :

MATERNELLE COORDINATOR

Assist in overseeing and supervising all operations of the Maternelle.
Support the Maternelle Principal with the day to day business of running Page campus
Support the Maternelle with substitutes and the Principal when needed.
Attend and supervise school, after school, evening, and weekend school-sponsored events and activities as assigned.
Supervise children as needed
Liaison with parents as needed

EXTENDED CARE PROGRAM

Work closely with the Director of Extended Care and Maternelle Principal to design and implement a meaningful program that meets the needs of program participation and the school mission and values
Manage day-to-day operations of the program to ensure compliance
Recruit, train, coach, and supervise the extended care staff
Supervise Children in the ECP program as needed

Qualifications 

Ability to create and implement fun, engaging developmentally appropriate activities
Translate EEC state regulations into daily practices and program policies
Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
3-5 years of experience working in an early childhood education center, daycare, or after school setting
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or field
Bilingual in French preferred but not required
Teaching experience preferred
First Aid and CPR certification required
