Middle School English and Social Studies Teacher

The Position: Middle School English and Social Studies Teacher

Design and teach thematic English and Social Studies classes to middle school students
Work collaboratively with middle school colleagues
Serve as a co-advisor to a group of middle school students
Lead an after-school club one day a week
Participate in field trips and an annual grade-level trip.
Maintain a vibrant, inclusive, student-centered, active classroom environment.
Participate in all school activities, faculty meetings, committees, and parent conferences during and after school hours as may be necessary.
Maintain a growth mindset and actively participate in faculty professional development and supervision, including observations and feedback conversations in order to continuously improve one’s practice.
Commit to anti-racist and inclusive practices that support students of all backgrounds to succeed.
Evaluate and give feedback on student progress regularly using standards-based assessment tools.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s degree preferred
A comprehensive understanding of the field of English and social studies education and a demonstrated willingness to explore and embrace new pedagogical practices, technologies, and developing trends.
Experience teaching English and Social Studies at the middle school and/or secondary school level preferred
