Humanities Teacher (Spring 2015) (Santa Rosa)
Sonoma Academy is seeking a full-time Humanities teacher for the 2015 spring semester–January to June. The Humanities teacher will be responsible for teaching two sections of Humanities III, an integrated American Literature and American History course, and a section of International Relations. Our Humanities classes meet for 80 minutes a day, five days a week. The instructor could, if interested, be considered for full-time employment for the following school year.
Required Skills and Experiences:
• BA in history or English literature, preferably American history
• Experience teaching grades 9-12 (history)
• Experience in instructional design/curriculum development
• Desire to work with other teachers in a dynamic, startup environment
Desired Skills and Experiences:
• Master's degree in history or English
• Knowledge of independent schools
• Teaching-related professional development experiences and/or honors
