Four halls of learning, one Sacred Heart mission, for 125 years in San Francisco: Schools of the Sacred Heart is an independent, Catholic family of schools committed to academic excellence within the context of a Christian, faith-based community. Convent Elementary School (K-8), seeks an Elementary School Art Teacher (3rd-8th), who will join our existing Fine Arts faculty and continue to introduce our students to the world of art and to inspire them to develop their creativity. Students will need to be instructed in the use of a variety of mediums, including paints, pencils, clay, chalk and pastels, etc to produce finished art pieces that demonstrates knowledge of model techniques and/or theory.
BA/BS degree required (Masters degree, certification or credential is strongly preferred)
Vibrant art portfolio
Relevant classroom experience (2+ years)
Excellent communication skills with both children and adults.
Proficient use of technology software and hardware relevant to the classroom.
History of collegiality and collaboration with other teachers and administrators.
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse learning profiles.
Innovative, creative, and flexible teaching style.
Understanding of the developmental needs of girls at this age and how they learn best.
Desire to actively support the Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria.
