Director of Admissions & Financial Aid

Founded in 1971, Marin Academy is one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s premier co-educational independent day schools.  Located in San Rafael, CA, 18 miles north of San Francisco, Marin Academy attracts a school of 400 outstanding students in grades 9-12, who come from 60 middle schools in six Bay Area counties.  Twenty-seven percent of Marin Academy students are students of color and 22 percent of the 400 students receive assistance from a $2.5 million financial aid budget, creating a vibrant, multi-cultural community.
 
The Director of Admissions manages all aspects of admissions, recruitment, and financial aid efforts for the School.  The Director oversees two full-time staff members as well as parent volunteers, serves as a member of the Senior Administrative Team, and works closely with all School constituencies, including the Board of Trustees.  The ideal candidate will be an experienced admissions and financial aid professional who can provide leadership in admissions, marketing, and recruitment.  The Director shares Marin Academy’s commitment to creating a community of equity and inclusion.  To that end, the Director builds a student body that represents a diversity of thought, working collaboratively to build an inclusive multi-cultural community.
 
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree with a master’s preferred; five years of admissions and financial aid experience; commitment to Marin Academy’s mission; strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated organizational and managerial experience, warmth and a sense of humor.  Marin Academy offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
