Aim High is seeking teachers for Summer 2014! This is a great opportunity for both seasoned teachers and teachers-in-training.
Aim High is the largest academic summer program provider in the Bay Area, operating campuses in San Francisco, Oakland, Marin County, the Peninsula, and in Tahoe/Truckee and operates at 4 POCIS Member Schools: Lick-Wilmerding H.S., The Urban School, Marin Academy, and St. Paul's Episcopal School. The program combines intensive, engaging and challenging academic classes with activities and events that create opportunities for leadership development and community exploration. Students join after 5th or 6th grade, and participate for three or four consecutive summers for free.
This is a great opportunity for new teachers because they will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in leading a classroom, planning lessons, and working with other teachers.
This is what one teacher at Aim High had to say about his experience working last summer at Aim High, “[Aim High] provided invaluable experience for someone in the process of getting teaching credential”.
Aim High also encourages creativity and passion in teaching, helping teachers become more excited about teaching: “Working at Aim High was like going to ‘teacher camp’. I feel energized about teaching and it was an opportunity to learn effective management skills”.
