The Nueva School, located in the San Francisco Bay Area and founded in 1967, is an internationally recognized independent school serving gifted and talented students. Nueva is a pre-kindergarten to 8th grade progressive school emphasizing child-centered integrated studies, creative arts and technology, and specialist teaching in art, reading, math, science, music, and physical education. Nueva’s constructivist program is built on a foundation of design thinking and social-emotional learning principles. Nueva’s elementary program fosters students’ passion for learning by providing authentic, integrated learning contexts, valuing multiple approaches to the learning process, and creating hands-on and cooperative learning experiences. The Nueva School seeks a dynamic, creative 3rd Grade Classroom Teacher who is passionate about working with elementary school students, committed to innovative pedagogy, and familiar with the use of relevant technology to enhance learning. The candidate must have experience developing project-based curriculum with a team and without textbooks; command of inquiry-based mathematics instruction; training in teaching reading, writing, and spelling; and the ability to develop students in areas of social-emotional learning. The candidate must also value the diverse range of interests, talents, skills, and learning styles amongst the students and be committed to best meeting the range of students’ needs.

A Master’s degree is preferred for this position.
